First permanent installation

Ruwai set free

Last week we installed two Ruwai data recorders at two field sites. One in a gallery at the foot of mount Hoher Sonnblick and another one at the top of mount Kitzsteinhorn. I’m curious if the data recorders behave as reliable as they did in the lab.

A first look at the data showed some problems with electric noise. It seems that the mains power supply overlays our data with a huge noise signal. I have to run some more tests, why the noise is so dominant at the two installation sites. I the lab, I have never recorded such a high noise level.

It seems that I have to invest some more time into shielding the complete system. The most tricky part will be to determine how the noise enters the Ruwai system.
